2.4GHz Antenna System With Signal Autotracking for Rural Area Application
The design of antenna system with the intelligent system including signal autotracking that is suitable for such kind of rural area is proposed. The antenna system is also expected to minimize the need of tower that requires a very expensive cost in the construction. To obtain the signal autotracking, the antenna system that is composed of individual microstrip array antenna with working frequency of 2.4GHz is then arranged in a semicircle to widen its directivity and keep the coverage area. The intelligent system that is implemented using embedded system is used to read the antenna gain produced by each individual antenna. The reading process is conducted occasionally in a several minutes interval. An embedded system will compare the data generated by each individual antenna and drive the antenna with greatest gain to be switched on.
